Dave Walton appointed as Lead Coach
The committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Walton as Lead Coach for Trowbridge Amateur Swimming Club (TASC).
The Lead Coach within a swimming club is generally recognised by the ASA as a position one step away from the full Head Coach position.
The duties of the Lead Coach will be as follows:
- Act as the mentor for TASC swimmers taking part in County, District and National level competitions.
- Act as the mentor for TASC swimmers taking part in the 2 main Open Galas chosen by the club each year (Note: these galas are selected at the Poolside Meeting and shown in the Annual Development Plan & TASC Calendar).
- Work under the mentoring of Steve Fivash and other qualified ‘Coach’ staff as and when available. (Note: Steve Fivash continues to support TASC and writes the Annual Development Plan for the club).
- At the appropriate point in time, sit the further ASA exams necessary to transition to the full Head Coach position. (Note: the committee will ultimately agree on when this training should be funded and undertaken).
- Continue to write session sets and teach at designated sessions.
